Insurance Benefits

Patients tend to be concerned about using their insurance benefits at the beginning of the year and often “save” them for the end in case there is an emergency somewhere in between. In order to avoid last minute decision making and scheduling, we suggest the following:

• Know your plan year. Not all insurances run on a calendar year; the State of Nevada, for example is a fiscal year and runs July 1st through June 30th. If your treatment involves phases, you can begin in one plan year and complete in the second to best utilize benefits.
• Do the treatment recommended by your doctor. Left untreated, dental work never gets better and can to lead to more costly restorations.
• Ask your front office staff or treatment coordinator to prioritize your treatment and to help you to maximize benefits so there aren’t any left on the table at the end of your year.
• If you do happen to need additional work, ask your office about financing options. At Advanced Dentistry by Design, we offer a 5% discount for cash or check, CareCredit at 0% interest for 12 months and additional case-specific loans.
