Experience is the Difference
In previous weeks we have reviewed the doctors’ and the hygienists’ schooling and experience. This week let me introduce you to our front office team. Together Stacy, Paula and I have 67 years of experience. Stacy started as an assistant and moved to the front office after five years. Her training as an assistant makes her a great schedule coordinator as she is familiar with the procedures and the time it takes to complete. She is also the friendly voice on your reminder phone call the day before your appointment. She has been in the dental field for 29 years and with Advanced Dentistry for 10. Paula is our insurance coordinator and has 18 years of experience. She is extremely well-versed at obtaining the information necessary prior to your treatment so you will know your coverage and estimated out of pocket. She is also able to review explanation of benefits for any discrepancy and prepare an appeal on your behalf if necessary. She has been with Advanced Dentistry for five years. I have been in the dental field for more than 20 years in different capacities including new patient coordinator here for just over a year. I am a part of the new patient exam through treatment, and work on the financial portion, as well. I work closely with Paula and Stacy to ensure we are within insurance guidelines (if applicable) and are scheduled accordingly. Karen is our office manager, has 18 years of experience and like Stacy, began her career as a dental assistant. She began working for Dr. Wright as his assistant in 1997 and after three years moved into a front office position. In 2003 she was promoted to office manager and today presides over a practice of three doctors and 11 staff members.
